Learning Through Play project
Our story!
Since our participation in the Scratch Education Collaborative initiative, KampaBits was empowered to use equitable coding approaches to empower youth in both rural and urban settings in a bid to foster creativity and critical thinking in solving problems from an early age
It was of great importance that learning was to be delivered in a fun and playful way in a bid to keep the youth engaged
To delivery great impact, KampaBits is now working with schools both at primary and secondary level to gamify parts of the school curriculum using scratch games and animations so as to enhance critical thinking, creativity and make learning engaging for youth. Our approach is to have computer science infused and taught in other subjects rather than as a standalone subject.
This is also meant to engage existing teachers to learn and use technology in their subjects to deliver knowledge more effectively and creatively
This project runs in both community centers and school computer labs where both students and teachers get to interface with scratch
